It seems to be one of the few “christian” things that even non-religious, or atheists actually enjoyed too.
Some like “Davey & Goliath” too though.
Surprisingly, the creator of the popular “Friday Night at Freddy’s” games is christian. That’s not the kinda game you’d expect from one, I bet. (Though, some are actually pretty good at making horror stories. Not all christians are like Ned Flanders, people forget.)
I know a few kids from non-religious families that watched VeggieTales.

I’m actually a christian, I don’t believe in judging others.
Funny thing is, Clair “Sweetie Belle” Corlett was in “3, 2, 1 Penguins.” (Which was made by the same people as Veggietales.) So it’s funny to see Sweetie there.
