Because there wasn’t Internet back in the 60s ,brah.Roddenberry himself got scared of trekkies zealousness at one point.If Star Trek became popular during our decades,you would have seen the same event happen(I mentioned JJ Abrams because it was the most recent iteration of a franchise notorious for its fanbase)

Fans of JJ Abrams Star Trek didn’t oversaturate their fandom by shoving it in everywhere.
The Star Trek fandom’s infamy has died down a lot, but the MLP fandom is near Sonic levels of infamy.
You dont see people downvoting en masse JJ Abrams Star Trek tho
No I mean, it’s not just because they’re judging people who like the show, it’s because the fandom has a reputation for being cancerous.

I see where you guys come from. They just see as “grown men watching a show for little girls”, and that needs to be wiped out and see that a show for little girls can be watchable with good writing (which it’s debatable since the changes were controversial by the fandom) and characters. Nobody is too old to watch a kids’ show.
I mean, nobody acted like asswipes over grown men watching Kim Possible, Sesame Street and Powerpuff Girls for the same reason they hate the fandom and MLP.
Which honestly isn’t COMPLETELY undeserved, it’s only MOSTLY undeserved.
Honestly, it’s probably the fandom that caused people to downvote like crazy.
