The bubbles were poorly foreshadowed, They seemed to have no plot relevance and so it surprised me when Twi drew them here instead of the obvious red herring of the storm. It also made the appearance of the three-horned bunyip feel contrived because there’s no reason to believe Twi would see through that red herring and deduce the actual cause. I wish they’d included some oddly specific wording like “the sandwiches bubbling to the bottom” in each story and that all the matching details had been depicted here, and then only these three circled without revealing why. Just my fourteen cents.
That sounds like something Twi might actually do.
