That will start to be too hard for me to handle now. My animated skill is not that good. And I think $400 is high enough to my taste now. More than that. It will put a lot of pressure on me. The expection for a thing with high price is very heavy…
well you could add a pet tier. or some lightning in the background. or fire? falling leaves. something like that.
or more frames for the blinking animation so it would actually looks smooth and not choppy. mmmh what else you could add to get more mons. shiney cards. people looove shiney things. remember those shiney pokemon cards? gosh people kill for that stuff.
Well. The truth is…I never expect aunction to reach this high, I only expect it to end around second tier. Because everything beyond second tier is only bonus. A reward if bid going that high. Or else it will be unfair if they only get an art like tier 2th no matter how many bid it go.
While Auto-Buy is actually a limiter for auction’s bid to not go beyond that line. Because I don’t have any bonus left to offer now…

I swear I had seen a pricing chart perfect for this sort of thing on DA or KnowYourMeme that I cannot seem to find… :P
As a fan, I can instantly recognize a picture of an artist I like. Vavacung’s style is vastly different than others I follow from the line art, to expressions, and shading/coloring. Not to mention the characters and designs on the OCs she makes. I can understand if you don’t recognize it if you don’t care for her. I wouldn’t for anyone I don’t like or care for either. She’s currently (4/22/17) is making $3,503 per month. Keep in mind she lives in Singapore (or somewhere in the SE Asia area, I can’t remember :x). That’s making bank if she’s in the area I think she is.
The game I am talking about is a Flash game. As in, something even I could make. In this day and age, making impressive things seems to be more about the tools than the talent.

Exploiting stupid people is certainly how is looked to me too. And maybe that is the case. But hey, if you’re not the one doing it, someone else is. Some people just have more money than sense. Or money and generosity. I can’t recognize a Vavacung image myself from the style, I am not a fan. I just looked at the artist tag count and assumed. They can clearly draw pretty well… Infact there’s some pretty good images there looking through. It’s a shame the top prize isn’t a comic, Vava’s pretty good at those.

$3000 a month?! Remember when being an artist meant being poor? Things sure have changed. For the better, to clarify. I don’t like to think of my favourite artists starving… It’s also somewhat inspiring for people that want to get into art, knowing it really could become a career.
It’s good to hear an artist doing well through Patreon.
She is already getting whopping 3000$+ a month from patreon… This is a fucking rich LIFE!

Keep in mind that computer devs are pretty expensive. I mean, even at ludicrously rock-bottom rates, $100 would probably buy less than ~4hrs of work from a professional developer. So having only a little work done for that much seems like it aught to be par for the course.
I’d also imagine that there could be a fairly painful chicken-and-egg problem with public funding: if a project starts with barely any funding, then it can’t buy much time to add things that will attract more funding. So there are probably some unfortunate devs out there that really want their projects to succeed, but get stuck in a rut like that and can’t afford to spend their time really making the projects they love shine.
I personally don’t think that 1) Vavacung has a recognizable style (it looks like a cheap imitation of the show style with some brighty colored photoshop filters) and 2) is that much of a “big name”. Sure, they upload basically everyday and that makes them relevant but quality trumps quantity every time and you can easily tell that their artworks are done as quickly as possible and to stay afloat. From derped faces to nonexistant anatomy and perspective, Vavacung is probably one of the least talented “famous” artists on the fandom but hey, apparently people are stupid and they like mediocrity so it’s okay to forgive their stupid high prices.

I’ve made complaints on animations made in a single day that went for $100, I’ve complained about games funded by patreon that get tiny updates for $100 a month. In the furry fandom this fame=money thing is rampant. But when you realise why it is, you get less angry. Wanted to save you the rage with my explanation.
How much is brown-nosing worth?
This is the payoff to it all. If someone actually bids that high, I’d say Vavacung earned it.
A bit late for a 1 April joke, tho.
