:) Nope. That’s just a habit copied from one of the professors at my University.
 
(I recall that Cheerilee’s class sometiemes studies advanced physics, given the math formulas seen sometimes on her chalkboard, so I think my “mistake” would be tolerable here.)
 
Also, I am not an American. Even if I looked into some kid’s homework, it would likely look different than an American kid’s one.
