Not a bad explaination. I think the glow/color is just so the audience can tell who’s magic it is, though. Maybe magic simply distorts what the camera captures.
The magical telekinesis field is glowing and tinted, so when applied directly
to the smartphone, it interferes with the camera, by causing a glare and discoloring
of the photo. I guess.
