Self-contained biomes powered by magic are probably created the same way. Equestria should be full of caves like this one.
The Son Dong caves in Vietnam are the largest cave systems in the world, and large enough to have their own self-contained ecosystems.
The giant crystal in the ceiling seems to be the light source. Probably magic in some way.
You could probably power an anti-gravity bottle with it too, for when robots come snooping around.
