Seems like a wording error in the tl;dr version; will have a chat about it later. The current (it’s a WiP) “legit” guideline is at the bottom of the page. Yeah, it’s not perfect, but it’s what we could come up with in the time we had and will be improved on.
 
And yeah, boobs and butts are questionable; actually pussy, penis and/or anus (as well as what comes out of these) are explicit.

The descriptions are a little confusing then. The wording seems off to me, but maybe I’m an idiot.
 
“Grotesque - Visual horror and gore; blood, guts, “war”, this all comes under this category.” Seems to tell me that war would fall under Grotesque alone.
 
As for the second part, so is it pretty much. Boobs=questionable, pussy =explicit?

War is grimdark, not grotesque. Grimdark is mostly relating to the setting, so a war scene with ponies duking it off with not much graphic violence is grimdark. The same scene with a pony getting ripped in half and guts flying everywhere is grotesque. Grotesque may also cover things that, while not explicitly violent, are pretty much high octane nightmare fuel.
 
As for anthro, it’s going to depend on the style. In general, if it has visible human-like boobs, go with caution and tag questionable.

Reading through the description list…some things bug me. For starters, why is war considered Grotesque? What if not actual blood and gore is shown? Seems odd to me.
 
Also questionable extends to nudity only on humanizations, what about anthro, would that be upgraded to explicit?

Do you people know how to remove the “questionable”thumbnail from the questionable pics?  
I don’t wanna have to click on it to see the pic  
But i’m okay with the “explict,grotesque,grimdark”thumbnails,ihate this kind of stuff :S

There was no before. They always were mandatory. Wasn’t until yesterday though that the feature was added so you couldn’t upload a pic without one. As said, they always were.

So, um, what happens to images uploaded before the mandatory tags were mandatory?

I gotta admit it took me some time to realize how tags work lol

It’s kinda difficult for standards to not be higher than “please don’t get me arrested in California!”

Thanks Pinkie for finding them! Someponies haven’t read the rules and do not know how to use them. I’ve seen suggestive images marked safe, vice versa, explict images missing grimdark when needed. Grotesque for horrifying stuff. Maybe people will read the rules now.
 
As for you question, this site has higher standards than Ponibooru. Deal with it.
