cupid aka “the choosing stone” has been plotting to escape his stone prison and take over the world, and to do so, is overloading the area with magic, making ponies go nuts over their special talent. anon being a human is a magic sponge, so anything he touches gets drained back to normal. so if anon ever starts to look colorful, it means he’s full of magic, and about to go nuclear.
Anon’s eyes are blue. Should we be worried? Does this indicate an impending earth-shattering kaboom?

Does anyone else see Silky gradually turning grey-ish from the point of contact with Anon? Because it seems like she’s heading to the style of the first few pages in just a few panels more.
Well, we’ll know if Equestria was based on Earth or not if Pencils predicted the future by having our Earth pulled from orbit by a massive magnetic space rock (and of course have unicorns reveal themselves, expend all of their magic to create a new sun, and essentially indirectly kill humanity).
Hey, if he did, I call dibs on becoming the Choosing Stone.
…wait, no, that would just be a gigantic coincidence. Still could be not based on Earth. Ignore me. Except for that Choosing Stone part.
Well, They did say the Unicorns were hidden from the humans.
Which is feasible in our reality only if it’s a very small population of unicorns that only exists in a remote, sparsely populated and/or inaccessible region – preferably mostly covered in forest lest they be seen from above – or a few very small populations in a few such areas.
A larger population could live undetected only on the inside of the Hollow Earth, along with the Reptilian Nazis.
But that would be silly; everyone knows the Reptilians inside the Hollow Earth are ravenous carnivores and would’ve hunted the unicorns to extinction ages ago.
seems to be wearing a more modern outfit with leather jacket type style.
… I’d missed that detail. It’s too small to say anything definite, though.
You telling me you wouldn’t expect people who gained magic powers to also dress up like fantasy heroes?
Well, I don’t think I would… but factor in the magic insanity – and the cosplay/LARP enthusiasts you alluded to – and it’s practically guaranteed a not-insignificant fraction of them would… :P
@Exhumed Legume
Well, They did say the Unicorns were hidden from the humans. And the man in the lower left panel of >>1139456 with the eyebeams seems to be wearing a more modern outfit with leather jacket type style. So we could theorize that, as humans gained magical powers, they adapted to different styles and outfits.
I mean, we already have people dressing up in fantasy outfits. You telling me you wouldn’t expect people who gained magic powers to also dress up like fantasy heroes?
@Steel Yes. There is literally nothing more important at this moment than discussing the historical possibilities that were exposited roughly a year ago in a fan comic based on a show about magical talking ponies. ಠ_ಠ Literally. Nothing. =P
@Zeb
I mean, the existence of unicorns and the outfits and what looks like a short sword in that, uh, flashback, for want of a better word, kinda seem to indicate against Equestria having once been our Earth…
So the only wiggle room for the Equestria = Earth hypothesis would really be in the history as told being incorrect.
But that falls squarely into the pure speculation category for now.
@Steel
Note to self: Never, ever, under any circumstance, make even the most seemingly-uncontroversial statement about the lore of a fan work again.
Pfft, yeah, right, as if I’m ever gonna learn that lesson! :P
D’aww!!! Silky Strings is sooo cute!! Even when she’s being tied up and kidnapped, it looks so adorable!
Also, I’m pretty sure that the cult is secretly hiding ancient human tools in working condition (primarily an old iPhone at full charge, a car with a full gas tank, and an ak-47 with five magazines and plenty of ammo).
yes, I think that’s what’s implied there. either cupid’s gonna make anon go critical, or cupid’s gonna pull a body snatcher on anon. or both.
Anon’s eyes are blue. Should we be worried? Does this indicate an impending earth-shattering kaboom?
Moonglow’s a doorbell.
Oh, I know as much, it’s just that no one seemed to find it worthy of mention that it was happening right there on panel.

that’s ridiculous. everyone knows the unicorns and reptilians were both ravenous carnivores and died out when they depleted their food sources.

Are we arguing the canon of fancomics now?
Yep! Always leave an escape route! =D
And in seriousness: I know the comic doesn’t directly identify the planet as Earth. It’s possible, yes. But that’s all it is.
And in the end, doesn’t really have an effect one way or the other on Anon touching more pony butts~

So, to recap:
Thus the word:
=P
None of that indicates Equestria = Earth, only that humans used to exist on Equestria in the distant past.
I was talking about the history Papyra gave:
Which is also why I added:
[bq][Possibly. Some of the history telling might be wrong, who knows~][/bq]

Anon was pulled into Equestria from Earth. No indication that time travel was involved.
Actually, in this comic, it is. [Possibly. Some of the history telling might be wrong, who knows~]

Judging by the story so far, those bones have been there for millennia. Probably an ancient mausoleum/ossuary type of part of the temple.
