As a person with a form of autism called aspergers, I am kinda offended by this. Autism is not an excuse for making dumb, shitty decisions. It is simply a condition where you think on a different wavelength. If you make a bad choice, don’t blame autism, blame yourself.

Besides, developmental disorders aren’t that rare lately. Roughly 1% of the entire population of Earth has been diagnosed with a form of autism, and it’s slowly increasing. Note how I said “diagnosed”, that 1% is just the people of who we know they have autism, who knows how many there are of whom we don’t know. The chance that one or more members of the main cast have developmental disorders is pretty big.
