I’m not a big fan of cheerimac. cheerilee is best foreveralone. I genuinely thought you weren’t aware that it might hurt someone’s feelings, though. it took me a while to figure out what about your words that was bugging me… kind of subtle. it’s just important to recognize when someone’s agreeing with us, even a little bit, so they can feel validated in doing so.
as for what doesn’t qualify, it depends on your qualifications. I mean, if being friendly doesn’t qualify, only heart eyes, then does that mean sugar belle isn’t in a relationship with big mac? heck, claiming they’re a canon couple is as valid as claiming she’s using him to give her stuff, then friend zoning him!
I’ll be happy to say big mac and sugar belle are a canon couple, but I won’t deny that he and cheerilee may have had a thing, until marblemac destroyed that head canon. people weren’t “always” wrong in speculating that. I’m sure certain executives would claim that they’re all just “good friends.” somepony’s relationship status doesn’t have to be set in stone, for us to enjoy the room for speculation they give us.
@redweasel
I’m not trying to rub any salt, nor demand anything, (remarks like, “no more schmoopy-schmoo” is just me being silly, people here do that sometimes. Don’t take it personally) so there’s no need to get so aggressive with me. In fact, I kinda liked CheeriMac myself, so you’re ignorantly assuming I’m biased, and ironically incorrectly judging me.
(Hate to say it, but two characters interacting, or being friendly does not qualify as a “canon romantic ’ship,” if it did then EVERY character must be in love with each other. Though, some ’shippers actually believe that, but to each their own. If you wish to believe something was semi-canon, so be it.)
Honestly, I tire of constantly having to defend myself here.
cheerimac was semi-canon, because at the end of the episode they were still having fun together, so the potion did end up bringing them together. that was the moral, that things can actually work if you don’t push them too hard. and frankly it seems kind of spiteful to tell someone “that was never canon” because they’ve already admitted that it isn’t canon, so you don’t have to rub salt in the wound by demanding more.
@Background Pony #9FE0
Despite the teasing, CheeriMac was never canon anyways. (They even ironically regarded that in the episode too. They were just influenced by the “love potion/poison.”)
Can’t believe I used to say that “the only canon ships in FiM right now are CheerieMac and FlashLight” somewhere in S4. I would never knew how wrong I was.
Y’know, I think the Anon’ should’ve been a pony too.
(I’m sorry, but “human on pony action” creeps me out. Though, him being creepy might’ve been part of the satire.)
if that’s what raises your pennant, then go ahead and imagine it that way.
Nothing says they weren’t enjoying each other’s company after the love poison wore off as strictly platonic friends.

No more “Schmoopy-Schmoo.”
