After losing interest in the fifth season during its first airing, I finally went through the whole series during the Memorial Day marathon.
 
That ending was just… ugh. Bad enough Genndy turned the whole thing into a lousy shipfic for Jack and his perfect little tragic snowflake of a creator’s pet that is Ashi, but then she also turned out to be a walking deus ex machina to return Jack back to the past, and to top it all off he she gets martyred just to make Jack eternally pine for her. I’m surprised he didn’t go the extra mile and have her kill Aku too while he was at it.
 
I’ll just stick with the PS2 game and the IDW comic if I ever want any post classic SJ material after this.
