Strawman argument, Beau Skunky wins the debate!
But being on one hoof is even worse! Ruined 4everz! :P

Aha! But she’s only standing on one hoof, not two! So technically, she’s not being bipedal! ;)
Ok… That’s actually rather insulting, assuming I blindly love everything he draws, and your twisting my point… (Which believe it, or not I don’t. I’ve even admitted at times some pages/panels he did looked off, like the Daring Do issue, the above issue, and such. Not to mention the copy & paste animal pile on that one page)
Though, don’t get me wrong, I like the show style, I’m just pointing out some people dislike it, as well. Even some MLP fans. My point was not everyone likes/hates the same things. That’s what I mean by “subjective.” You guys can’t comprehend why anyone likes his art, well maybe some feel the same about what you like. I wasn’t saying he’s flawless, or the best pony artist ever.
Also, the idea that all pony art has to look exactly like the show is actually a bit disheartening to me, as personally I sometimes prefer fanartists, and such who draw ponies at least a li’l differently from the show, or even in other art styles, as opposed to those who basically copy & paste the show style exactly. I understand that the comics should look a li’l similar, but I kinda disagee that Fosgitt’s is “too different.” (He draws them with big eyes, tiny snouts for example just like the show.) So there are some similarities, but I find the differences to be a nice change of pace sometimes. Though, I will admit his older stuff was better, but all the constant “Fosgitt-drama” anytime anything of his gets posted here is getting seriously old, (and not just from his critics or haters, as I’m tired of debating it too) and is making it impossible to critique, make harmless jokes about the comic in general, (without looking like a “hater”) or even compliment anything of his even if it’s good/amusing. And for the most part, it feels like we’re not allowed to like anything of his here anymore regardless how it looks.
I admit the above isn’t his best which is a shame, because I know he can do better from looking at his older issues, MLP cover art, and his DA gallery.
Not to mention, I’ve seen other IDW artists draw badly at times too, (sometimes even entire pages too) which I posted in other threads, (to show not just Fosgitt is guilty of half-assing things, every MLP IDW artist is) and they don’t get nearly as much drama, or ire as everything Fosgitt draws.

So if he just drew circles to represent the characters you’d be completely fine with it and insist to everyone it looked like ponies and that art was subjective.
Saying art is subjective is frankly a huge cop-out. The whole point of making a comic based in an existing series, in a franchise, is for the style to stay at least reasonably close to the source material. Jay gets poked at because his work doesn’t look like the show at all, and you get panels like this where the ponies are walking on their hind legs consistently with wonky anatomy and you can see where corners are cut and about 300 other issues.
That said, I suppose the ultimate fallback here is “it’s all meant for kids anywhere and they can’t tell the difference, so stop complaining.”
I doubt Fosgitt was inspired by the Japanese G1 pony line that is all bipedal.
I think he just draws all small characters like he’s drawing his Bodie Troll thing.
I’ve seen G1 pony fans say they can’t understand why people like the G4 show art style, which looks weird to them too. (In fact, personally I used to dislike the show style too before I became a fan.)
Basically, art is subjective, and in the end everyone has different opinions.

Laziness, probably. That or it feels super unnatural for him. I just don’t get how people can look at these and see anything but really short people in pony costumes.
He can’t win with you guys, can he? Just admit it. :P
@soundtea
Actually, if you look at other recent issues he did, he has cut down on the bipedal poses alot. I’m curious why there’s more here now all of a sudden.
Other than the obvious bipedal only thing that seems odd is Sweetie’s arm in the last panel. Maybe he’s learning?
Or most likely scenario is he got lucky.

@EmployeeAMillion
I think you might need to see an optometrist.
I don’t think you get the difference between sparingly (was also clearly Twilight imposing her form on a figurine) and constant bipedalism. How would you feel if the entire 2nd half of that episode was suddenly Celestia, Starlight, and Luna full bipedal every scene?

Yet, everyone loves stuff like this.
it doesn’t
@Anonycat
In Jay’s defense, a speaking character in a comic whose mouth is closed usually indicates they’re speaking quietly or with their mouth not opening much. But here, it’s used a little too heavily.
