I know what you mean, and it’s awful. You “know” what is and isn’t true. But the feeling, the instinct, just overwhelms any of that. I try to reason my way out of things every time, and it never works. At best, doing so will just distract me for a few moments, then it’s right back to all the feelings and thoughts that won’t go away.
the worst part is when your logical, analytical mind can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that everything is real, and it does nothing to dampen the feeling like you’re gonna wake up from this nightmare any minute now.
it’s so easy to hate yourself, when you’re smart enough to understand just how broken you are.
