Oh, she’s a nice enough character, sure. But they actually call her a mammy in the Japanese version…well, but then, I don’t usually hold it against them. They don’t really have other races there, and tend to get information secondhand, after all…
I didn’t think Lenora’s design was offensive when she debuted. So she wore an apron, the mammy/aunt jemima reference didn’t click in my head until people pointed it out. And it didn’t even put her in a bad light.
