The most unrealistic thing about this special isn’t Juniper’s lightning fast redemption. It’s Starlight’s ability to do ninja tricks after only being in that body for a few hours.

I would say it’s less akin to riding a bike and more like coming across a “pull” door when all you’ve dealt with for a long time was “push” doors. You’ll try doing it like normal, realize your mistake and feel like an idiot before adjusting.
 
She probably dropped a lot of stuff people handed to her as a human at first because she forgot she couldn’t use magic I’d bet.

How can she “forget”? She is unicorn. It should come naturally to her. That’s like forgetting how to ride a bike just cause you have never ridden a bike for a certain amount of time. I have NEVER seen a person just lose the ability to balance on a bike. XD Hell, I was able get on a bike just for the hell of it not too long ago and never wobbled a bit. That’s after spending years using a jeep to get around too.
 
Also, IF what you say is true, then WHY didn’t Sunset make a mental/written note on how to re-adjust from being human and pony whenever she uses that mirror afterwards. Considering its been a year or so during these specials. Not like being self-exiled to eqg-verse for many years before just appearing in the first eqg film.

That’s not really Sunset “not knowing how” to use magic, more that she forgot that she could. As soon as it was pointed out to her that she had a horn again she picked it back up instantly. Most likely a symptom of her going native in the CHS-verse. Either in the first movie, she had to take a minute or two to reorient herself after stepping through the portal, or she was so obsessed with returning to Equestria for revenge she never stopped thinking about using her horn and whatnot.

Even though I adore Starlight, this is hard to believe. Especially how Sunset don’t know how to use magic to open a book when she had no problem grabbing objects in the first eqg movie when she sneaked back into Equestria. And she does not know how to hold things with hooves when in FIM had ponies grab things with their hooves ALL the time.

Took Twilight about one flailing walk to the school steps to get used to being bipedal, I’m not too shocked by Starlight lucking out with random flailing.

So lemme get this straight: our main villain of the half hour we’re watching this has no powers and gets her mirror taken by a pony who just recently learned how to walk on two legs. Yeah, fantastic climax there.
