And yet, you’re the one who keeps replying even after you said that you’d drop it, aren’t you?

Don’t actually reply to this, whether you’d apologize or blame cloudkicker108 for baiting you, I don’t care either way.
All I want — and all of us who are still in there should be in agreement — is that you both do as you said, and drop this asinine conversation that has been going in circles for too long. Is that too much to ask for? Thank you.
CronoM

@cloudkicker108
Why do you keep on insisting ‘there is another solution’ as if there is anyone besides you that desires to painstakingly troubleshoot a conversation another billion times. For the last time, I’ve outgrown you and your arguments and have no desire to ever talk to you again. Even now you are getting more pushy about this even after you said “then so be it” before. For the last time, let it go. Take a bloody hint.
CronoM

@cloudkicker108
There isn’t. I desire restraint, not infinite repetition and insanity. This song and dance has to DIE. From experiance, too much experiance, this is the only solution that is beneficial to most everyone. I am never giving you attention again, and us not butting heads will make me and a lot of people like @MegaAnimationFan and many others happy.

@cloudkicker108
“then so be it”

Thank you.
CronoM

@MegaAnimationFan
And Vice versa don’t forget.

@MegaAnimationFan
Thank you for reigning him in.

@cloudkicker108
If it makes you feel any better about you AGAIN trying to start another painful discussion between the two if us for nth time, don’t worry…I was never going to reply to you beyond a couple sentence long…

“No, were not doing this again”….

…in the first place. I specifically told you this the last time we talked. It’s self-enforced restraining order time for both of us.

Doing the same thing over and over and over again might seem fine to you, but that sounds like the definition of insanity to me. I’ve outgrown you and your arguments, and we’ve both agreed on several occasions we should never, ever, ever, ever talk again for both of our sanity’s. Let it go. We are not doing this again.

Although Starlight is undoubtedly a divisive character in the fandom, that alone is not an indication that she is an inherently bad character. Flawed, certainly, but not completely broken. And she still has far more fans and people neutral about her than haters. As for Sunset, she was eventually able to reclaim fans in part because the writers made her into an obvious woobie and pity target in Rainbow Rocks. Also, while Starlight’s path of reformation was longer and rockier than Sunset’s, she’s still made substantial progress nonetheless. She might not be where Sunset is now, but she’s definitely not still stuck where Sunset was in the first EQG movie.

You seem to not be aware of the concept of opinions. Nothing I said was inherintely wrong.

However, if you want to take subjectivity out of character analysis, you have to use the masses, for example:

A well crafted character is not massively divisive in the fandom. EG1 Sunset, for example, had a lot of detractors for good reason. Starlight is in the same boat, and continues to be. However, anyone can tell that EG2 Sunset and onwords has less detractors then Starlight.

Its not my mind you have to change, it’s the massive amount of fans who dislike Starlight.

@CronoM
Except that you are wrong. Starlight fits perfectly with the show. It’s just your bias that thinks she doesn’t.
CronoM

@cloudkicker108
It isn’t a matter of ‘character’ since its not an acknowledged part of her character like Sci Twi’s awkwardness is. Her stilted dialogue is simply a side-effect of being a stilted character with not much identity. There’s really no reason for it to exist except for the sake they keep putting Starlight with the many characters she doesn’t have enough personality to associate, resulting in stilted.

I’m not really bashing Starlight as a character here, this is a purely technical issue with the writing. If you want a character to connect well to more and more other characters, they need to develop her personality. When they rushed into S6 with her completely altered personality, they didn’t really do much to give her a flushed out personality. Meanwhile they kept on pushing and pushing her into characters they simply CAN’T write natural dialogue for between them due to lack of Starlight’s character range.

So yes, her dialogue isn’t out of character, but that’s kind of the problem. Since its not acknowledged, its not an intentional character trait, and its not unexpected because we expect stilted writing from Starlight. To avoid this, they need to limit her unnecessary appearances until she has enough episodes the flush out her personality. Otherwise, this problem will just continue.
CronoM

@cloudkicker108
That’s quite a bit of a stretch don’t you think? It’s just an excuse A well developed character would never have dialogue that seems unpurposefully prompted and awkward. She simply doesn’t have a persona that can associate with other people. Pony twi is guilty of this as well, but not to the extent that her dialogue is too stilted to talk normally to others.

@CronoM
While she can relate with Maud and Sunset, the connection isn’t quite as deep or profound as what developed between her and Trixie. As such, it’s not hard to imagine she would have slightly more difficulty conversing with those two than with the friend who understands some of her deepest struggles. As for why her imperfect dialogue is never acknowledged, I’d chalk that up to the ponies of Equestria preferring to understand an individual for who they are on the inside rather than focus on their linguistics.
CronoM

@cloudkicker108
And just to be clear, we’re not talking about a character like sci twi who they have in show established she’s too new to friendship to pick up on every conversation, and they actually show it. I’m talking about ill fitting prompt-like dialogue that is never acknowleged.

Unlike most of the characters, starlight seems often incapable of creating the illusion that the two voice actresses are talking to each other, because her character isn’t developed enough for such varied interaction.

You yourself JUST acknowledged she sounds awkward, but it’s not for the reason you explained which is human twi’s well established reason. Starlight’s prompt dialogue is never acknowledged by the characters or scenes.
CronoM

@cloudkicker108
Her conversation skills with trixie are fine because she is naturally and emotionally invested fitting her personality.

Outside of that, it’s as if the other characters, even the villains, have to pretend she is emotionally invested cause her ill defined character does not fit most of the scenarios the writers put her in.

If the characters and audience have to pretend she’s invested, that’s not a good thing.
CronoM

I’m going to be frank here…

With the exception of when she’s around Trixie, Starlight seems to be so removed from chemistry or conversation flow, its almost like she’s reading her prompts.

I’m not joking, I’m not sure if its an artifact of her moderate to severe bland writing, but her dialogue around Sunset and Maud and a lot of the others sometimes feels that she’s reading her lines seconds before she decides to talk, removing any real emoting one would find normally in MLP. And I sincerely don’t think its any issue with her voice actress, it seems more that her scripted dialogue is just naturally clunky.

If we’re being timeline chronically straight here so:
First Starlight with Trixie (of equestria)
Second Starlight with Sunset
Third Starlight with Maud.
