A large fragment of the Ulysses asteroid made planetfall directly in Farbanti and completely destroyed the business district. Shock waves from the impact damaged buildings as far out as Johnson Memorial Bridge, and registered on Richter scales across the Usean continent. I decided to focus on the Farbanti impact, not only because of the damage it caused, but also the Continental War that it sparked. Stonehenge, the massive set of rail guns built before Ulysses had passed the Roche limit, was unable to destroy every asteroid fragment that slammed into the Earth. Erusea - as a response to the lack of protection that Stonehenge was able to provide - invaded and occupied the rail gun’s location and used it as an anti-aircraft defense system against anyone who dared attack their forces.”
