Description
This is for a small, cute, little story that I read on the Equestria AMINO. There was a scene that she wrote that popped into my head, and I had to draw it.This took less time to finish than I thought that it would! I’m pleased to say that I’m actually getting faster!
No problem! I’ve seen too many artists ripped off in the 20-odd years I’ve been online. Nobody likes watermarks, but they’re one of the few ways y’all have to stop people ripping off your work for their own profit.
Thank you for understanding why I do it. I personally hate doing it. As it takes from what I worked on. But, we don’t live in a perfect world. And I can’t trust the internet with my work. I see art, bases, and everything under the sun get stolen very often. And people DO steal pieces to make profit off of our hard work. It’s agitating. Again, thanks Love Letter! :)
I don’t think you read my comment correctly. I’m not talking about watermarks for the artist’s financial gain, I’m talking about assholes ripping off art and then making money by pretending it’s theirs (prints, t-shirts or whatever).
And artists don’t get Patreon subscribers until they show off their art and draw people in. So they can’t even get to the exclusives bit without putting their art out there in the first place.
Do you take me as an ignorant? I understand if you commission it yourself your copy wouldn’t, I am speaking broadly towards how art should never be ruined with something like it solely to assure some financial gain, the gain to the general public/fandom should be greater while it does bring better publicity for someone who likes commissioning in the first place; I have more respect for the patreon exclusives and such way instead..
You do realize the commissioner will get a copy without the watermark in most cases, right? The watermark is for those of us seeing it free, because assholes take it and either try to sell pictures or claim they drew it themselves.
