basically, those (at least some) who read the comic and are fine with the tv show acknowledges that a weekly format won’t do it justice (not enough budget for special effects) and/or are waiting for things to ease into place rather than just go straight into heavy religious stuff/comic accuracy.

Well, the blonde hair thing is pretty simple. In the comics they wanted more of a perfect being look to him so they gave him blonde hair and blue eyes. Meanwhile the show like having him as almost perfect so black hair works better. Really, in the end, the show works best because its so bare bones. Non-comic fans can get into it and don’t have to be in know to know what’s going to happen. Plus the comic gets a little out there on its ideas and certainly makes it hard to keep in some sort grounded reality. Though it not completely removed itself from such ideas as it showed in the recent finale.

don’t know the comic exists so comic specific jokes (the blonde hair for example) kinda fell ??? to me.
 
i’m liking that dr. linda is now aware of all the divine hilarity going on.

I know, it’s such really fun show even if it pretty bare bones when it comes to its comic book lore.
