Now, as a physicist, I especially well appreciate how amazing life is.
 
This does little, though, to quell my arachnophobia.
 
In the end, I see a spider, and go “it’s this little self-sufficient living creature that has its own world it lives in and everything so amazing”, and out loud I’m like, “Croiky! She’s a Beauty!” while being terrified of getting too close to the thing the whole time.
 
…And because I really don’t like killing things, I actually have gone out of my way to relocate spiders from my bathroom to out the front porch. Spider just wants to make web and eat bugs. Go spider, make web and eat bugs :3

It’s hard to imagine what might cause this level of despair. Because it seems like anything terrible enough to elicit this kind of reaction would just make the person go into shock and/or denial, instead.
