@Edhelistar
Because his ancestors are smiling at him.
Maybe physically, since he’s somehow alive.
UH…no…. I’m talking about Flash Magnus…
I’ll remember that in the future.
I don’t know. I don’t take anything seriously and I like dark humor.
Vikings. And not your average ones either.
WTF?
Blue blood did nothing wrong.
I agree, after I deciphered what you said. Fortunately, apart from a few holdouts, Flash hate has mostly died, although it’s mostly moved to apathy. Even the video this is a thumbnail for tries to prove that Flash hate is overblown, iirc.
These days I use Alternate Start among other things to craft different characters and classes for Familiar Faces.
Same, I did the high Hrothgar peace pact on my first playthrough.
I have a pretty set playthrough run I do now, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Companions, The Civil War, College of Winterhold, Main Story, The DLC’s.
Honestly, in some of my earliest playthroughs, I didn’t even give a damn about the war. I just mucked about with the story until the greybeards called everyone up to High Hrothgar to form a temporary peace pact and have me settle disputes on which lands should be traded to the opposing side. Even then I still just mucked about and killed things with my Dwemer Exoskeleton attachments while chugging at 15-20fps because my PC at the time was crap.
Oh I completely agree, the war is easily hand waved away in the game. That wise man quote I mentioned earlier even parodied how pointless the game made it and just said “I’ll join the fuck both your factions faction”.
Mods help supplement the battles and what not but the vanilla game didn’t give you much to work with, though it becomes pretty obvious the stormcloaks suck.
Edited
The game does a poor job making you think about the war.
The war should have had at least as much focus as the oblivion gates got. I don’t think there were any battles you could stumble upon anywhere in the wilderness.
@kleptomage
Weird, I thought I was being way too forgiving on the Empire at the start, and I simply wasn’t getting why people would think the Stormcloaks would be the best alternative. Only sided with the Stormcloaks once in almost 2 dozen playthroughs. But looking around the internet, I found that almost everywhere I looked eventually arrived at the same conclusion. Wonder what changed in the world to make it so?
Once I started talking to certain characters in the game I realized they were the best choice, the imperial officer near Ivarstead is a good seller when he talks about his encounter with the Thalmor, Elisifs advisor and even General Tullius make good points as well.
It’s as a wise man once said “If you want strength and unity you join the Empire, if you want to fuck your sister you join the lamecloaks”.
The Empire is the correct choice in the end. An independent Skyrim splits mankind when they need to be united against the Thalmor. The game does a poor job selling you on the Imperials though.
