Description

I made a little animation showing the recently finished soapstone figure of Princess Celestia from all sides. I just noticed this is my 100th upload to derpibooru :)

What the Fluff?
Seeing this, I can imagine dozens and dozens of them done and put outside in some secluded area, and in a hypothetical future where human civilization has restarted (like that episode of Sliders) these being found and mistaken for idols of an actual god people used to worship, heh.

:D Aye, indeed the tail can be mistaken. It would be clearer if it was done a lot thiner with a gap between the hindlegs and the tail, but in that case the risk of breaking the stone would be a lot higher.
Soapstone is a very soft rock (it can be scratched with a fingernail) and really a very pleasant material to work with. I can only recommend everyone getting the chance to give it a try. It can be carved with rasps, files and knives and can be smoothed (it can get smooth as soap, hence the name) with sandpaper.
It is an outdoors only kind of art though since it produces lots and lots of dust.
