Yeah, Faust actually had a piece about that (I think in the first Elements of Harmony guidebook). Talked about how it’s important for kids to learn that not everyone will change because “friendship”, that some people will just keep hurting you no matter how much kindness you show them, and that the moral behind Gilda was that it’s better to just cut abusive people out of your life altogether. (See how Pinkie’s attempts to be nice to Gilda were treated in Griffon the Brush Off).
…Then the show went and had Gilda be redeemed by being shown more kindness.
Reasons? Just because he’s self aware doesn’t make him sympathetic.
I bet he pulls a fake heel face turn to get Twilight to drop her guard but that’s about it.

Sony wanted it to go a Smurfs or transformers route by bringing the ponies to earth and interacting with humans.
Exactly. It was sony that was pushing for this story and it was scraped after hasbro went with lionsgate.
I thought those links said that SONY wanted it to be Smurfs with ponies instead.

Meghan suppose to write a story about evil alicorn and alicorn backstory and Starswirl. I don’t know why she decided to rewrite it after the email leak and end up with furries and another reformable version of Tirek.
Exactly what my problem is when the show does that.

I’m just worried if they do end up reforming Storm king I hope they don’t do it in a lazy half assed rushed way like they did with Starlight.
Well, keep in mind the tirek also went on about how friendship made you weak and how it’s bad, and he is the absolute furthest away from redemption. This may be here to establish that even though he may be nice to some of his men, he still,considers them all disposable.
Didn’t say it would stop me from watching the show or movie.

it’s old Hasbro and the original target audience has grown and matured so make a more mature story at the same time staying close to what makes it MLP.
