The movie feel horribly “by the book” and schematic. Along with unoriginal villains. And i really hate the “moronic henchman being a comic relief”. In most cases, the villain having such incompetent lackeys lead to his defeat. Especially with Shadow Tempest being the least original edgy anti-hero who becomes an ally later on.
As suspected, Grubber looks like he’ll be a bit of a comic relief character. (Comedy being very subjective, and all.)
My immediate thought: Man, there’s an opportunity missed. There are so many object-type pony names, it’s so easy to have random ponies thinking they’re talking about them. Like I almost expected Pinkie to then follow up on Grubber’s line!
I also don’t expect much from trailers: they’re often not put together by the same people who made the movie itself.
The jokes are pretty crappy based on the trailer. I wish Larson or Confalone were writing the lines. It really sounded like Ballarini would write those. His jokes in Ice Age 3 were bad too.
Nah, there’s ONE scene where he’s important. Near the end. For like… 2 seconds.
probably wouldn’t change a thing.
Eh. The people who make the movie don’t make the trailers. I’m hoping everything will flow better with context.

Pinkie: That still doesn’t make us friends.
