Well, with Tirek returning in the Season 8 finale(Confirmed by his actor Mark Acheson), here’s hoping the fight between the two will finally become a reality
@Pandramodo
what I can see happening:
Starlight and Tirek seems to be equally matched initially. Until Tirek reveals that he has been barely using a third of his full power. Once Tirek gets serious, Starlight becomes severely outmatched.
She needs to use forbidden spell that temporarily increases magic output but also stresses her body. Even then it will not be enough.
Starlight then resorts to collecting the magical energy of whatever is left in Equestria to create a magic bomb. Starlight throws the bomb at Tirek. Tirek resists, but gets overwhelmed and seemingly is defeated.
Surprise! He still lives, injures Maud and kills Trixie.
Starlight snaps. her anger reaches a point where she violently turns her into an Alicorn on the spot.
@PonyPon
And not only that, she can remove marks from 5 escaping ponies at once (And both of those 5 ponies prio to becoming Starlights Victims have become stronger then Tirek with the chest powerup)
So technically, Starlight Glimmer could be more powerful then Tirek if she defeated the Mane 6 that easily after their upgrade from the last episode
No friggin way anyone would want to just straight up fight Tirek in his final form unless he’s a giant dragon lord–which I assume has enormous physical strength, endurance and commands dragons.
@PonyPon
Magic is magic, cutie marks are a completely different thing. Or would Starlight be able to steal the magic, personality and talents of a blank flank?
@PonyPon
Nah. Starlight can take away cutie marks, not magic. That´s like saying that she can beat Discord even if he´s not even a pony. However, Tirek sucks magic and Starlight has plenty of that, so he´d be able to use his powers on her.
@PonyPon
The thing is, Tirek has basically a better version of the cutie mark removal spell. Rather than merely just remove and replace the cutie mark, he removes the raw magic itself. Once Tirek has absorbed the magic, Starlight can’t do anything with her spell, after all what cutie marks can she replace?
It isn’t shown he got the specific talents, but the show has yet to address what exactly cutie mark magic is and they might later this season.
I’m pretty sure Tirek can beat pretty much anybody in the FiM universe once he’s fed enough. Since this is his second strongest form, Starlight has zero chance here without outside interference.
@pokemonFTW
People often forget Tirek was pretty intelligent himself, only when he got the strength and power did he stop using it since he prefers brute force.
@SaburoDaimando
Ok, first of all… why Nightmare Moon? Nightmare Moon is gone. Why bring up Nightmare Moon to this scenario.
Second:
Why in the world would they do that? Seriously, how does that make any sense?
The Mane 6 are regular ponies. Their magic isn´t any more special than any random pony. And Discord giving up his magic? Are you high? Why would he give up his power to someone he doesn´t even know?
And, putting together all that magic; Do you really think that´d be enough to take Tirek down? Should I remind you that with all of Equestria´s magic plus Discord´s, not even four alicorns combined could stop him?
There is literally nothing, not a single solitary minuscule thing right with the scenario you´re describing.
That plot sounds strangely familiar, but I can’t quite put my hoof on it…

The joke of a generation.
Ikr, after vaporizing the oversized goat, she would’ve used at least 50% of it :^)
I’m with Starlight.
She is a mysterious mare.
@Pandramodo
Yeah, poor Starlight would’ve lost all her magic.

I was under the impression the cutie marks were magic.
Otherwise, ponies wouldn’t lose talent and personality without them.

I’d think having the spell to remove the power of marks might give her an advantage.

Starlight Glimmer: I can try.

Sometimes a few drops are what is needed to spill a glass of water.
But I digress. Even with that in mind my point stands.
I don’t know, the six’s magic did more for Tirek than Discord’s did.
Even without that, there’s clearly something special about them.

What if Nightmare Moon, Discord and the Mane 6 gave Starlight their magic so that she could fight back against Tirek?
The End.
