It’s a simpsons reference. Principal skinner is trying a stand up comedy routine and this was what he said as his opening bit. Then Nelson yelled how come he sucks, and instead of ignoring him or hitting back he openly and wearily admitted that he lacks confidence. It’s funnier than it sounds.
