Oh my dear Applejack, I think you are the one in need of a spanking, trying to sound smart by making fun of others might leave you with a red behind in no time.
Twilight Sparkle: No! Rainbow Dash! [grunts] How in Equestria does that pony expect to pass her history of the Wonderbolts exam tomorrow if she’s wasting time flying?! I’m just gonna fly right up to her and tell her what I think about her lackadaisical approach to studying! Won’t she be surprised!

She does do it in the show. And me or any of the other two or three people who have told you this are not saying that to attack Twilight Sparkle. Going through the effort of finding the exact scenes is not worth the time and effort. I for one wouldn’t waste my time going through hours of re-watching episodes to pinpoint exact moments just to “prove I’m right” to an anonymous troll, and judging by the lack of response by the others, they agree. Furthermore, if you don’t like “this portrayal” of Twilight, then stop reading. The entire comic is already drawn, this page is posted, and knowing the artist personally they do not care about your opinion. So seriously, just stop.
@Background Pony #44AA
Your opinion sounds incredibly bias which is why I think no one is bothering with you, because you’ll find ways to dismiss it all. Also, this comment section is for comments on the art, not for you to argue with people, so could you keep it private, or better yet take it somewhere else?
@Vree
I’m still waiting for examples. Twilight is humble and comprehensive most of the time, and not a condescending know-it-all in the slightest like in this comic
@Background Pony #44AA
Literally WHAT.
TV usually gets smart characters wrong (because the writers themselves aren’t educated enough), then here’s this artist that actually gives her script that sounds real and you complain?
Also yes she did this plenty of times on the show, she literally stood on a soapbox once.
(’fcourse, that was before her transformation into a “princess who only cares about friendship and boys” character.)
@Starswirl
the former, obviously. there’s nothing arrogant or condescending about the latter, especially when it’s done in a modest or friendly fashion
@Background Pony #44AA
What, the latter? She does that twice in Hearthswarming Tail, once in Saddle Row Review, in Filly Vanilly, and that’s just off the top of my head.
@Background Pony #44AA
You should go back and count how many times Twilight Sparkle corrects ponies. Including when she starts with “What X is trying to say…”
@Background Pony #9F9F
only if you read too many fanfics where she’s an insufferable know-it-all that corrects people all the time and acts condescending. almost the extreme opposite of show twilight
@Background Pony #44AA
Seems pretty spot-on to me. If anything, the others come across as a teensy bit dumb, but I could see all of them responding pretty much like they do.
When it became funny. =P

I just wanted examples of that behavior. If she does that on a comic but not in the show, why wouldn’t it be fair to question it

can you help me find those examples? i’m sure there must be lots of them if she really is like in this comic

Aye. The others are being a wee bit dumb, Twilight is fine.
