We’ve already encountered numerous magical stones of great power in Equestia. The Elements of Harmony. The Crystal Heart. The Alicorn Amulet. Chrysalis’ throne. Maud’s not joking. She may, however, be testing Starlight. After all, she just learned moments earlier that Starlight enslaved an entire village.

Well, if Chrysalis’s throne was made of a ‘dark stone’ that can make even Discord’s magic useless… My guess is that Maud must know of some other rocks with magic properties we still don’t know about.

I too wonder about this. Never was made clear, I don’t reckon. Seemed like it could have really been any of those things. I’m leaning mostly towards joking or just making conversation, though.
