the fact that it took an entire town and a calculated organized plan amongst them to outprank one single pony is testament alone to the fact that dashie had the last laugh.

That Dash (and I’m not by no means a big fan of her, not a hater, either) had the last laugh in this episode - along with the others this time - after all in this ep was a brilliant idea by the writers. Never try to outsmart an expert. 
I still don’t understand why Dashie’s fans got upset with this: it fixed the Mare-Do Well fiasco by giving PP (she tried to talk things first, to no avail) and the Ponyville citizens a good reason to be angry and start the masquerade.
 
BTW, in hindsight, imagine if Dashie’s parents knew about all this. These fake zombies would regret the they they were born, I guess. PHEW! Even Scoots wouldn’t escape their wrath.
