Well, if Medusa was supposed to be a priestess of Athena’s, how is that supposed to really have anything to do with Cassandra and Arcahne?
 
Because the way you put it, they sound like they’re different people.
 
Because I thought Medusa was supposed to have lived around a later period after the Trojan War.

Man the Greek gods are pretty big duches at times along with the fact that they love ||having sex with each other || why chaos why?

No. NO that is not what happened. It happens in one later telling, but that is not the only version and it also conflicts with Athena’s overall character. Medusa was originally just a monster, then later additions decided to give her a backstory and this backstory is oddly chosen to be the rape even though that isn’t the only telling. Other tellings do indeed have Medusa seducing Posiedon and being punished for it.
 
And then when people decry that it was indeed rape…. Does no one remember Cassandra? You know the prophet of Troy who was a priestess of Athena and raped in Athena’s temple? You know what Athena did? Athena was outraged at the RAPIST, in some tellings even breaking down and crying because of what happened to Cassandra. She didn’t do anything at the start because she was confident that the other Greeks would punish the man… when they didn’t, she helped poseidon make the Greek’s lives miserable through their journey and cursed the man who raped Cassandra to a painful demise.
 
If you want to bring up Arachne, Arachne failed because of hubris. She decried herself better then the gods. So instead of punishing her instantly like so many other gods, Athena went down to their world disguised as an old woman and kept trying to get her to apologize. Arachne would not because she was full of herself. So Athena, fed up with Arachne’s bullshit, appeared before her and challenged her. Arachne accepted and then… made a tapestry pretty much making fun of Zeus and his many sexual advances…. Which was honestly a bitch move so she was turned into a spider, which honestly is not the worst punishment.
 
I just hate how people conflate one version of the story that doesn’t really relate to her character to it must be true and Athena is bad even though she was one of the better Greek gods.

I thought that Medusa was supposed to have been a priestess to Athena who Poseidon raped in Athena’s temple, and Athena decided to punish Medusa like a dumbass instead of Poseidon.

And I really hate how in the new God of War game they’re making the Norse Gods out to be the same way, when they really weren’t.
 
They weren’t exactly all the best people when it came to selflessly protecting their mortal followers, but they weren’t the kind of gods that were just dicks all the time for nothing.
