To be fair, I wouldn’t say Tirek disposed of Discord in his ‘normal’ form. In the storybook sequence with him and Scorpan, if you look closely his silhouette more resembles his third form (the one just before his Mohawk). He doesn’t betray Discord until he attains his fourth form, the one with the Mohawk.
Furthermore, in the second volume of the Elements of Harmony guidebook, the picture they use for his bio is his second form (the one most resembling his G1 counterpart) so the sourcebook may consider his second form his “normal” form.
Tirek dispose him really quickly in his normal Form (when Scorpan and he came to Equestria) and in the Changeling hive he was powerless. Who said that he can beat the Stormking? We don´t even know how powerful he his.
Storm King seems to be basically Discord meets Tirek
I really want if Discord isn
t in the movie, IDW give him a mini-serie what answer the question "why he isnt in the movie”…Bit fluttershy would be in danger, and if anyone hurts fluttershy there DOOMED.

I would like it if maybe they gave him a Quicksilver scene. Like where he shows up just to get the mane 6 out of immediate danger and then goes on his merry way, leaving them to carry on with their quest.
He can change his surroundings in an instant and change matter.
He is so powerful keeping him around would make the story uninteresting
