God, he’s fabulous

My headcannon is that status fought when the hippogriffs lost to the storm king, but was knocked unconscious and trapped mid battle. When he woke up, his kingdom, his civilization, and his species were gone. He could only guess what happened and then decided to learn, train, and fight back.  
A guess is that he finds the storm king in the invasion of canterlot, fights with tempest and wins, giving Celestia the idea of allies. The storm king then shows up and beats Stratus. At the peak of the battle Stratus asks “AND WHERE ARE THE HIPPOGRIFFS!?” To which the Storm King answers “shoo-be-doo” and then blasts Stratus in the face with a massive amount of lightning beating Stratus.
 
Just a little theory/headcannon, I’m probably wrong but it’s fun to think about

talking to the panel runners we got this from EQD:
 
Couch talked to the people running the panel and it was a deliberate decision to focus the panel on the movie and it was a hard decision to make. The messaging about what the panel contained had gone out already by the time they made the decision though and it couldn’t be changed.

My main issue is that they advertised the panel by saying that they would announce new season 7 news and new EQG news, so I went in expecting that. We got neither. This is problably the only mlp sdcc panel to not have any new season news.

There’s something called Hascon in September. It’s their version of D23.

My favorite part of the panel is how they showed 2 movie scenes that we will never see, and besides that revealed nothing for season 7 or EQG

That’s more or less the general design of the hippogriffs in the movie. Skystar and Novo have been seen as them.

I know this guy is a hippogriff but why does he look so different…
