You could have easilly replaced him with a hurricane, or an earthquake, or any nameless, faceless, natural disaster, and the story would basically be unchanged.

Sombra = got shit
The crystal heart is very different from other power crystal seen since this one get power from ponies hapiness, making it unusable by villains. It is probably also indestructible like the ring because King Sombra would have sure destroy it instead of hiding it if he had the opportunity.
I’d give ‘em a go, just based upon the fact that they’re classics. The writing style_does_ require a little patience, but the story is enjoyable.
