It’s astounding that people have this assumption that there’s one main artist who comes up with the ideas, controls everything, draws everything, colors everything, and puts it all together, and they have all the time in the world to do it.
Budget cuts. Deadlines. Bosses breathing down your back. Printing department complaints. These things exist. The creation of a comic book is more akin to an assembly line.
To churn these things out in a timely manner, you have:
They’ve all usually got barely a few months, if that, to get this comic book out, usually less than 60 days. On top of that, they’re expected to work on 5-6 other comic books of other series not related to the one you’re reading. On top of that, your grocery store department supervisor usually makes more money than any of these positions.
Are we looking at the same image?
Fosgitt doesn’t have off days - his art has been off from the first time he’s drawn for the MLP comics, and has deteriorated since. Instead of taking time to learn the basic pony anatomy, he’s continued to draw them off model.
It’s like someone trying to get you to pay for caricature drawings at a fair that look nothing like you. You wouldn’t pay, and would be upset at the lost time. I wouldn’t pay for his issues of thr comics, and am upset at the lack of a decent art issue for the month.

Yeah, I can’t imagine why they don’t listen to intelligent, constructive criticism like “You suck!” and “Quit drawing ponies!” and “You’ve ruined the comic!”
What I can’t stand is no backgrounds. A background is just as important as the characters in a visual medium like comic. But fosgitt prefers to use those stupid clashing colours to save time I guess. MLP’s setting is such a colorful and beautiful place and it’s sad that any artist wouldn’t wouldn’t take advantage of it.

The artstyle isn’t degrading, rather it still the same ever since first debut.

It isn’t an excuse, but tenure tends to be an indirect cause of stagnation. You get paid the same so why bother?
That’s not an excuse work to the best of your ability or to refuse to improve upon yourself, nor is it an excuse to lash out and cry whenever someone points out your shortcomings.
It’s more tenure really. I mean your posisiton only requires a bare minimum, so why bother with effort?
It’s honestly depressing that, rather than improve upon oneself, artists surround themselves with sycophants and safe-spaces to coddle themselves.
No, making image to call him out for his style is drama no matter what you think of him.

Maybe take the picture itself into account. Discounting comparisons to other artists, he seems to have gotten overall worse with ponies.
No one makes these compassion images about Fosgitt’s art without trying to state drama.
And if they really want to know then there is the thread in the forums for discussions.
tl;dr some people are still upset that Jay Fosgitt is a hack and won’t let it go and that in itself is considered drama.

Maybe realize that it really does seem Fosgitt has gotten worse even in his own style for ponies. The sheer number of bipedal ponies with blank backgrounds in his latest comic was staggering. Seems like a textbook case of stagnating/not caring. Price seems to be falling into it a bit as well with his constant pissed off default faces for ponies.
What drama that is not actually a drama but for some reason is seen as a drama did i miss this time?
