Also, I don’t know what’s so bad about the celebrity actors in this movie, they did nothing wrong. Quit implying Kristin Chenoweth or Emily Blunt aren’t real stars ffs.

I know what the tagline means, it’s a very old saying, but in the context of the movie, I don’t quite get it.

That’s a rather strange tagline.

So the SDCC poster actually gives the real stars the top billing… Figures.

Also, for the people wanting the real stars in movie publicities, please don’t bash people like Emily Blunt, they’re not bad actors. Is just that the general audience doesn’t treat the VA’s like Hollywood celebrities because of how they were unknown outside of MLP.
 
Just like people like Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin and Naomi Scott weren’t well known before the new PR movie.

Sad as it is, it makes sense that the previous posters would focus on the celebrity voices over the voices of the Mane Six. Celebrity names are just more marketable than voice actor names, since people are more likely to be familiar with the former than the latter.
 
I mean, just look at the ads for the SpongeBob movie. There was more focus on Scarlett Johansson, Alec Baldwin, and Jeffrey Tambor than Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke.
 
MLP is an even bigger example, since other than Tara Strong, the other Mane Six voice actors aren’t well known for their work outside of FIM.
 
This poster is more aimed directly at fans of the show than the general audiences than the previous posters were aimed at.
