I’m going to add that most of those ponies were from out of town. I would also like to add that the townsfolk have been jerks before. The reactions were, for the most part, more taking things too seriously.
What “friends?” Most of ‘em were ponies they hardly knew, or just said “hi” to once. They didn’t exactly “turn on them” either, aside from Rarity, but that seemed handled too comically for me to take it that seriously.
the very same reason I don’t like Fame and misfortune.
and I’m just sitting here hating how the Mane Six’s friends turned on them.

Same here, every Fluttershy’s episodes is always on “must watch list” for me.
I dropped the mainline series for EQG a while ago.
Other than the short with Ray and the animation in the dancing one, I don’t care for EQG anymore either.
