The “natural selection” of those whose only fault was to stand nearby a stupid person? If stupidity only hurt oneself, that would be kinda great actually.
Because not everything is weak to energy damage. Sometimes you need ballistic damage.

My boot Drill sergeants had it right; whatever you point at is going to die. Therefore, never point a gun, even an unloaded one, at something unless you want it to die.
So if you end up shooting yourself, its your own damn fault for hating yourself so much.
My last trip to the range had a guy a few stalls over do just that. The range officer had cows, kittens, and several other species.
Myself, felt a little less comfortable until he left. Felt like ducking a lot.
