But they’re not involved in the comics in any way.

For that matter Tabitha St. Germain (Rarity) was an “additional voice” in the old goofy AOSTH show, (credited as “Paulina Gillis”) but no clue who she was.

It’s probably possible since chris wyatt and dave polsky wrote episodes of mlp and sonic boom.

Where did you hear all of that about Archie? Are you just speculating? Though, actually you’re wrong that comic sales have been bad, as releasing 2 or 3 Sonic books every month, plus all those reprint collection books, and such is not the sign of a low-seller. (The only one that didn’t do very well was the “Sonic Boom” comics, which is why they were short lived, and put in the Sonic Super Digest books instead.)
And they aren’t “defined” by Sonic, as “Archie & Friends,” and such still sell well, and sell more then Sonic. So I don’t think that was why.

I think you’re just trying to point the finger entirely at Archie, but nobody really seems to know who’s entirely at fault, but for all we know it’s probably a li’l Archie’s & a li’l Sega’s too. Japanese video game companies are actually quite notorious for being very picky about Americans using their properties, (especially Nintendo whom had the fewest references in “Wreck-it-Ralph”) so we’re actually very lucky the StH series lasted 290 issues. (More if you cound the “Sonic Universe” side comics, Sonic X comics, Knuckles comics, miniseries, ect.)

Also, IDW is rebooting the series, and making their own version, they’re not “continuing” it. Sega even stated in the Tweet the series is being “taken in a new direction.”

All that says is that they concluded it. It does not say THEY ended it. Sonic comic sales on Archie’s side were falling through the floor. And Archie was getting tired of their image being “defined” by Sonic. They chose to end it on their end, and of COURSE Sega is going to then make an announcement saying they were taking it elsewhere. Because they are. Archie doesn’t want it anymore. Simple as that.
