Well, actually, I don’t really know, but my theory is that she actually was part of the imperial lineage. Her mother was the empress before, but sadly, she died when Sable was pretty young. Unfortunately, one of Sable’s cousins took over the throne after her mother’s death. Sable must have been insanely jealous and driven mad over her appearance at the time that she probably killed her cousin and took the throne. Yes, I have no idea how I came up with that. UwU

I’m also wondering if Sable Spirit is part of a imperial lineage or did she acquire the throne through other means?
 
Also, I like how they didn’t use those atrociously ugly Qing Dynasty Manchu hairstyle they forced men to wear during the dynasty.

I think it looks kind of weird to have all your stuff out in the open like that.
 
Makes it look cluttered, but maybe that’s just a different cultural standard.
 
Speaking of which, this is the only ancient story that doesn’t seem to connect to the historical background of the tribe it depicts.

This has to be one of the most detailed throne rooms in the show.
 
There’s still no name for this kingdom. But it is implied to be separate from Equestria.
 
I would also imagine that Cloudsdale was founded under a different name as an independent city state before it integrated into Equestria.
 
Rockhoof’s homeland looks to be a remote island.
