On top of that Apple Squeezer 3000 mentions that the Apple Family needs the money which would mean Applejack has more motivation to work that Rainbow Dash…sure she doesn’t get into the Wonderbolts. but Applejack she will be out of a home if she messes up. Rainbow Dash can’t risk being reckless which is doing something without care about the consequences whens she’s a wonderbolt Meaning she has to have a lot a self control. Applejack can’t be lazy.

Look I hear what you’re saying but I just can’t Imagine Rainbow dash as Diligence BUT! I cans see her as Temperance She has the characteristic of Diligence but not the spirit of it. You NEED to be diligent in training cause its training. Virtue of Diligence is doing so because you to get the job done right and Sorry I can’t see Rainbow Dash as Diligence. When I compare her to AJ I saw Rainbow dash falling short of being this virtue in comparison. Training to me is not enough proof. because if you use that as an argument then I can say that Twilight and Rairty are better examples. FREAKING RARITY! Because one Rarity work as a fashionista who has branched out her company into manhatan. Twilight is always studying. HECK I can say Spike is a better example. HE WORKS FOR THE TWO OF THEM! But can we call them Diligence because of these things? No. So just because Rainbow is a part of the wonderbolts does not make her diligence. Cause from what I have seen the wonder bolts aren’t really military. Even if they are…just because she’s in the Military doesn’t mean to me I can just go “Oh she’s in the military she’s diligence!” But you wanna know you need in the military? Discipline. So wouldn’t self control be a better example for Rainbow Dash? Look at Wonderbolt academy She KNEW That some of Lightning Dust’s actions were gonna get people hurt. In fact some times she had to reign some of the other ponies in. Thats her having self control. Hence why I chose Temperance over Diligence for Rainbow Dash.
 
On top of that Look at AJ’s Situation Closer. She Manages a farm with very MINIMAL help. Going back to apple harvest. When her brother was injured she immeadiately took it upon herself to harvest entirety of sweet apple arces by herself. Lets face it if Twilight hadn’t intervened she would have done so…would take a long but she’d do it. And thats where I see more as diligence cause when you think about it theres only Apple jack and Big Mac. Apple Bloom has school and Granny Smith is too old. meaning most of the time it’s to her and her brother to complete most of the chores. But thats not where the diligence part comes in. it been hinted at that she has been doing this since she was young teenager maybe younger. Sonic Rainboom is impressive yes. But its not everything. Thats like saying because Twilight made spike into a grown dragon during her entrance exam mean we should make her Princess. Like I said Rainbow Dash is HARDY yes. But When I think of Diligence Go to Applejack. Cause she gets the job done right. In most cases Diligence is about doing something to its completion. And Thats Apple jack mind set. Get the job done. Heck she scolded at rarity for not knocking down the branches. When You have a job you DO your job first then the other things later.

Not sure what you’re talking about with Cider Squeeze 3000, she pretty did her part to help AJ’s farm. You can’t just use ONE scenario and treat it like that speaks for all of her actions. RD has AJ beat in diligence because she goes above and beyond with her training, as I pointed bout, it’s one thing to manage a farm, but being accepted into a Millitary organization is no joke, especially when you are capable of pulling off a Sonic Rainboom (something that is actually believed to be physically impossible), and be able to pull it off from take off point no less showcases that she’s nowhere near as lazy as you think she is in the back kind of skill takes LOTS of practice.

Thats where the problem is. I think diligence is more than working hard. Diligence:Constant AND earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken;persistent exertion of body or MIND. I am not saying that RD is not hardy far from it she is an athlete. She just as not much of a hard worker than AJ. Who stays on task without taking a break…and the whole pilot episode scene of her slacking off instead of doing the job of clearing the skies kind of ruins it. When I think diligence I think of someone who will complete a job AND do it right. Look at the movie sure she completes the decorations…but does a lousy job. Applejack on the other hand when she does a job not only will she see it to its completion. She make sure it done RIGHT! And RD has been seen doing things to complete a job Quickly but it comes out sloppy(The Movie) or ruin the entire project (Almost happens in apple cider squeezer 3000) and this outside of athleticism. I just see Applejack more diligent then Rainbow. Because Rainbow she either be making constant effort or an earnest effort…but you need both to be Diligent and Applejack got her beat in that regard she makes a constant AND earnest effort ALWAYS!  
With that being said This is WHY I choose Temperance for her. She’s an athlete and Temperance requires self control especially in eating…now I have not seen rainbow pig out (neither Rairty but for a different reason). BUT! Temperance is to show moderation or self control;…think for a minute about her current status. She’s a Wonderbolt…but she has time be with her friends. Meaning she can balance being a wonderbolt and being with her friends. showing that she can do both with out going to far with one or the other. Think of it this way, Roy mustang would be considered Gluttony’s opposite because of his personality Gluttony doesn’t when to stop, he does. Rainbow is the same way…most of the time. She doesn’t go to far with her stunts and knows when to stop. THAT’S why I Chose Temperance over Diligence… She has more SELF CONTROL. That’s why not just because she’s lazy but because she has more self restraint than AJ or Pinkie.  
And before ask about pinkie, her job is to make others feel good, so boasting is out of the question heck she pratically goes heroic worship mode when comes to her friends…Maud to an Extreme so in other words Pinkie might, MIGHT be Temperament but she is DEFINITLY Humble. Hence Humility.

You dismissing Rainbow Dash as diligence is baffling to say the least, it feels like you completely ignore half the times in the series where she’s been shown practicing her moves, not to mention being physically fit to keep up with Applejack, I’m doing the extra mile to help her friends or Ponyville in general such as in Hurricane Fluttershy, such feats of course couldn’t be done without being in Tip-Top shape. More than fits her.

Spike Patience? You have to be patient in order to deal with what spike does on often sometimes daily basis. Twilight for a lack of a term is a handful to work with considering her OCD. And Spike just deals with it without getting angry…exasperated maybe but not angry. He has her personality down to a science now and understands her quirks. it doesn’t bother him. And THAT’S why he’s Twilight’s number one assistant…I bet most ponies would just lash out at her. He does not. And that is quite an accomplishment considering that he is a dragon and many dragons I have seen are not as patient as Spike. Spike the Brave and Glorious. And Now Spike the Patient works for me.
 
Twilight Chasity? Out of all the Mane six she has not been seen looking at someone (at least in my eyes) in lustful manner (Yes cake can count). But What else is considered to be lust? Or better yet what is lust. A craving. Unlike Gluttony which is an unnecessary consumption of something, Lust is a craving for something in an unhealthy manner. The most common example is sexuality but there is also a lust for money and a lust for power. that last one is Important. Twilight never really wanted to be a princess, let alone an Alicorn…but that would be humility right? Well what else does Chasity mean? Pure. Some even described it as; this is important: “Pursuit of FRIENDSHIP with others instead of sexual relations” Now whats Twilight? The Element of the Magic of Friendship. in fact it seem like she was ok with just being friends with Flash Sentry. Despite how many people claim she has a crush on him. So This Fits perfectly for her as a character.
 
Fluttershy and Rarity fits considering their elements.
 
Now here where I disagree but hear me out this is just my opinion.
 
Pinkie Pie Temperance? Uh have you seen how much she eats? One time she half of each cake in the sugar cube corner. And Temperance is self restraint, especially in eat and drinking. And this pony bought a bulk of cider instead of just buying one and letting those behind her in line to have one first before buying more. So yeah Pinkie is definitely a Glutton. I think a more fitting one would be Humility. She is the element of laughter and how can you make people laugh if your boasting about yourself? you can’t it her job to make other people happy and feel good about themselves. A humble mind is needed to do so
 
Rainbow Dash Diligence? This to me is a big NOPE. RD through out the series has been seen napping and lazing about like slacker. And Sloth has been the tralation of a latin word that mean without care. Sometimes it could refer to boredom…and Dashie here is the QUEEN of this notion. So what would her virture be? Temperance…out of all the mane six she has been seen with a scene of her eating so much. AJ Too but here is where it would make more sense for her to be Temperance. Her dream. Wonder bolts are basically star athletes and you need to be in good shape to be one of them. and Gluttony would ruin that. She only went crazy when it comes to the apple cider but seeing Pinkie bought more than she should have…I think that can forgiven.
 
AppleJack Humility?…Well kind of but she does have her moments where her stubborn pride got her in trouble many times, like in apple bucking season. (She refused to ask for help stubbornly all because of a comment her brother made.) And the running of the leaves. She is humble but not as humble as Pinkie. But we know she is a hard worker therefore Diligence would fit her more. Applejack’s pride is born from her hardy nature. When she set her mind to completing a job she will NOT stop until its done. Once again apple bucking season is perfect example of this. This mare refused to sleep or take a break until she harvested all the apples…granted she only harvested half of sweet apple acres but still that takes some dedication. Those of Humility are not afraid to ask for help…AJ just refuses to do so many times. But she is more than willing to see a task to its completion and done right. Cause doing a lousy job of something just to get done, is just an example of sloth. Her encounter with flim and flam demonstrates she will not take any shortcuts if it affect the quality of her work.
 
So to me its  
Twilight: Chasity  
Spike: Patience  
Rarity: Charity  
Fluttershy: Kindess  
Pinkie: Humility  
Rainbow Dash: Temperance  
Applejack: Diligence

Spike is dead on, Good job

Pinkie? Temperance? …well, I suppose to enjoy a cake you can’t have overdosed on cake, so potentially there’s a good lesson there. Spike, who has his growing up ahead of him, is a good choice for patience, obviously Kindness and Charity are set by Rarity’s and Fluttershy’s Elements, and of all of them Twilight does seem the most reasonable fit for Chastity.
 
Spoilered so it’s only taken as an alternate proposal and not as criticism: I might have gone AJ -> Diligence (I understand Dash’s athletic practice representing diligence, but when I think of hard work I definitely think of AJ), Temperance -> Dash (an athlete needs to restrain their appetites to stay in shape), Humility -> Pinkie (laughter is often about poking holes in arrogance or verities).
