They cost 1000 gems each. Not sure if i want to buy them - it takes me one month to grind 1000 gems.

Fuck these community events. This is the first time I’ve been legit angry, they wall content and make it extremely hard to get gems unless you’re giving them a ridiculous amount of money. Then they give you a stupidly small window of time and try to goad you into buying these packets of data. I must’ve spent hundreds of my saved up gems on these events and there’s no way I’m gonna be able to complete it in time without logging in 66 times now to defeat that final ursa. Bout time I deleted this shit off my phone.

I’m disgusted with this app at this point. I’m gonna be sad to see my pony town go, but I’m done with this.

If you want to restart your town, then there’s nothing stopping you from deleting your data (but why would you, you’ll just lose all your limited time decorations and characters).

And the in game “store” is not dependent on a server. It’s the exchange of real money for gems/bits that requires a server.

Sure, eventually you will run out of things to buy with no updates but I don’t see why that’s a big deal. It’s not like you lose everything you ever bought like PlayStation Home or other online dependent services.

You cant even restart this game. Thats my biggest issue with these kind of games. Once its over that’s it. All thats left is for you to collect bits and gems nowhere to be spent since gameloft no longer runs the server.

There are those foolish individuals that pay $200 to get the pair in game without going the ‘discount’ route like this as well. They posted pictures on the game’s facebook page and basically begged for attention.

While sure, they ‘might’ have only spent the $60 for the pair…. but to have as many gems remaining as they did indicates otherwise.

Gameloft only gets greedier and greedier with every update they make. They browse each episode looking for the most obscure background ponies that you see for a few seconds off in the distance of a scene, add them to the game, and put a $20 pricetag on them for no fucking reason. The majority of those ponies don’t even have a name. Like “Daring Doo Fan” or “Speedy Pony” or something equally generic relating to what they do/who they are.

It’s getting so much worse every day. . . .

In those other cases, the games required you to be online. This game doesn’t. The other stuff you said is true but I’m just saying that won’t be an issue in the future.

There are even ways you can backup your data to your computer.

Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon each cost 1000 gems. The lowest amount you can buy gems for is $1.99 for 20 gems. At that rate, each one of them is $99.50.

However, what they do for these two ponies is offer them in a “bundle”, which is instead a flat rate for them. Normally, each bundle is $29.99, which they claim is 50% off. That would mean they figure these two cost $60 each.

This is why I detest free-to-play games, ESPECIALLY ones marketed towards children. Unlike a tradition video game that’s sold in a store, there’s no limit to the profit that can be generated, especially if you can easily twist and bend numbers to make people think they’re getting a big, valuable deal, when in reality, you’re selling them an animated pony sprite for their fictional town. Anything can cost any price.

The worst part about all of this is…what happens when the game is done and over with? You can dump hundreds of dollars into this game, get all the fancy shops, ponies and decorations, and then one day Gameloft says they’re done, and it’s all gone. What then? It’s happened before with other F2Ps.

Wait, wait, wait. Is it 19.99 AFTER the 70% off?!

DO THOSE THINGS COST 66 DOLLARS ORIGINALLY!?
