I don’t know, but it’s a classic sound effect throughout history. I guess it’s fitting. It signifies a pinprick or a poke. Bee stings are pokes! Therefore…
I wonder why that seems to be the most common sound for bee stings in cartoons.
I haven’t seen the episode yet, but after your description, I can hear it while watching the gif.
The “doink” sound the stings make in the show are like sweet nothings in my ear. XD
