On October 7th, 2017, at 12:00 noon Eastern Time (immediately following the airing of the new episode), /mlp/ will be kicking off this year’s Anniversary Party, ushering in the 8th year of My Little Pony. The main event of this, will be the livestream, of every single episode, movie, music video, promo, and short, played back-to-back in one spot, in addition to influential and popular fan video breaks. There is approximately 78 Hours of official media to go through this year, so we’re estimating roughly 3.5 days of constant streaming, straight through the annivesary on the 10th.
In addition, we hope to have art, discord group chats, group gaming, and prize giveaways. We hope you can all join us during the course of the weekend.
Can’t wait to see you all there!
This one wishes everyone a blessed night. May sleep find you and dream of large mares.
It seems someone always asks this every year.

You know what the adult fanbase would look like without 4chan?
It’d look like the fanbase for Care Bears 2014.
I’m sure an adult fanbase would have formed but that’s where many terms and names originated such as “Brony” and “Derpy Hooves”. Basically the fanbase would look completely different if the site never existed.
It probably was also the only place discussing the first episode as it aired.
And as dismissive as I have been of /mlp/ (and chans in general) in the past, I do think this is a nice gesture and a good thing you’re doing here, so thanks.
And for what it’s worth, I no longer think /mlp/ is significantly worse than the rest of bronydom.

There were adult MLP fans before G4, and Lauren Faust and Rob Renzetti had their own fans who were more than willing to give a show about pastel ponies a chance. /co/ certainly helped the fandom grow faster than it would have otherwise, but there was always going to be some level of adult fandom for the show.
The thing is, while Faust created the show, there wouldn’t be a fandom without 4chan. It literally started on 4chan. The mods banning ponies outside of /co/ only made it more popular.
Suggestive art is still allowed, but porn was always against the rules of blue boards, like /co/ and /mlp/. Pony porn is allowed on /trash/.
“4chan is full of SJWs now”
No, that’d be HERE, along with tumblr and probably the lgbt board on 4chan but I have zero desire to check.
I was on 4chan/co/ when the news/hype about MLP:FIM first broke. /co/ treated it ironically at first, but quickly became fans in earnest after the first couple episodes were aired. It led to an explosion of fan interest and numerous other boards popping up, including Derpibooru here.
You can’t deny that the show’s adult fandom had its start on 4chan; that’s simple historical truth.
you’re on 4chan, aren’t you?
You don’t actually think I’m that stupid, right?
well, you said they created the fandom, then I said some of us were around before, then you said I better not be talking about G4. so I assumed you meant that they created G4.
anyway, yes I was a fan of G1/G3ish, and fantasy animals in general… we’d been kind of hiding in the furry fandom until the new pone came out.
What? Nobody said they created G4.
4chan didn’t create G4… deviantart did. specifically, devaintart user fyre-flye, who enlisted the aid of DHX media, and pitched the idea to hasbro.
the fandom just started trolling 4chan, and everyone thinks that some objectively awful internet forum was therefore the creation of it.
anyway, even if 4chan users were once a huge help in mlp’s popularity, 4chan’s changed since then. ponies are ghettoized into /mlp/, where even suggestive art is forbidden, and SJWs have p. much taken over the site, so it’s easy to get banned over silly things. 4chan has captchas now.
Edited
That’s funny that you think that.
I certainly hope you mean MLP in general, and not G4, otherwise you’re dead wrong.
>4chan created the fandom
4chan users created the fandom… and they’re all either banned from 4chan now, or left on their own.
tumblr had more influence on the fandom than 4chan.
some of us were around a long time before 4chan, too.
this is funny actually, everybody here thinks /mlp/ is the worst. like if they were the most chaotic and conflictive full of drama place in the fandom… but actually I find more endless discussions, drama and whiny bitches here than /mlp/, the only difference /mlp/ are a little more savages
Edited
I was in the Anniversary stream last year. They played a marathon of episodes and pony related videos, nothing bad.
Stop assuming the worst of /mlp/.
My point is…
The least you can do is meet someone halfway, snob
>Put aside our differences
>On 4chan
You get one.
that would be perfect… kinda…
tecnically 4chan created the fandom

normalfags are not allowed
I actually forgot about /trash/. Or blocked it from my memory, whichever.
Yey
