Well, this movie would be for all ages despite the movie being rated PG just like several other movies that are based off and set during tv shows.

Well for one thing the guard isn’t using it right and if you can close the distance quickly enough (which she did) you can negate most of the advantage a longer weapon has (you can’t fight very well with a 6 foot spear from 3 feet away and if the person you’re fighting has a sword or a dagger you’re in trouble; and she has a cutlass, which is designed for close-quarters combat aboard a ship, where a longer weapon can’t really be used). The guard seems to be using a weapon similar to a Japanese Naginata but he has the blade facing the wrong way.
