also, i’m guessing the reasons for twilight velvet having a different voice might be legal ones pertaining to canadian labor laws. as i understand it, as a general rule you can’t cast american voice actors in a canadian production unless they’re either big-name celebrities in major roles or just plain guest stars (including recurring guests like john de lancie or one-offs like weird al.) tara strong is the only hollywood-based voice actress working on the show partly due to her status as one of the top names in the entire industry, and i would imagine that her choice of roles for the show is severely restricted. i was surprised that they even allowed her to voice velvet in the first place, unless it came with some understanding that it was a one-time-only thing. we haven’t heard night light’s voice, though, so chances are he’s probably still voiced by andrew francis.
