I’m not sure why, but I know several ‘serious’ animation fans (as in people who study the history of animation, work in it or are seeking jobs as animators, and seem pretty well informed on the subject) who all seem to act like MLP:FiM sneaked into their homes and shot their dog. And apparently Faust sold her soul when she agreed to make it. I really don’t get the contempt.

Hey, better that than a poor one.

It seems like the ones that rate it poorly went into it feeling like, “Do I really have to watch this?” Their apathy is painfully apparent in their reviews, and it’s a little sad. If only they were a little more open-minded.

There’s gonna be a lot of reviewers that don’t give a damn about animation or kids films in general shitting on it because they were ordered to review it. Gotta keep that bitter, serious reviewer cred.
