Thorax at least seems to see it as rude.
If you followed the series, you’ll know that he can’t remember where his hole placement was, and is too stubborn to take on any other form than his original one.
IKR? I mean, why wouldn’t he be able to maintain his old appearance if he likes it so much? Does a changeling disguise expend a lot of energy? does changing evoke suspicion in ponies and other changelings?
