Facade (left) and Masquerade (right)

Facade is a 35-ish year old pony. He never smiles around his brother due to a pact they made when they got their cutiemarks on a very tragic day.
Facade’s cutiemark is a yellow smiling mask, with a red stroke behind it, to hide his talent. He is a serial killer, but only kills his victims with a smile on their face on the stage.
He is very fond of books. He spend most of his time, besides doing his borther and his play, at the library. He learnt a lot of spells that would benefit both him and his brother. He met his “one true love” in the library. When they were young, they spend summer as special someponies. But unfortantly she didn’t see him other as a summer romance, because she left one day with a tall alicorn prince. Facade was devastated, and was sure that the alicorn prince had implemented something on her. It was all HIS fault. Not long after that, Masquerade convinced his brother to get away from the twon for a few years. When they returned to do their play, he disguised as a orphan colt and got a job at the castle. There, he found out his sweetheart was dead after foaling her second foal, and couldn’t do anything else but blame the prince. He soon befriended the small princesses, and found out VERY quickly that the youngest was identical to her mother look wise.
When the little filly grew up with Facade, he had gained her trust, to go with him. As soon as they were alone, he erased all her memories but her name and age. He made sure to only know him, making her love him. But it couldn’t be done, without using force on her. He wanted her. He had to have her. Nobody else could have her, but him.

Masquerade is the same age as his brother. They are twins. He always smiles, not only because of the pact he made with his brother, but more likely because he enjoys what he is doing. He LIVES for his talent and love or the theater.
Masquerade’s cutiemark is a mask with a frowning face, and a red stroke behind it. His talent lies behind his acting. He kills his victims while they are at their lowest point.
Masquerade has always lived for the theatre, and wouldn’t know what else to do with it. He was behind an awfull tragegy. His parents didn’t want him to pursue theatre, but he would make them change their minds. He had to, how else could he not do what he loves? He convinced his brother to find the most twisted book he could find, and make a play out of it. They got many fillies and colts to join their play. Masquerade and Facade invited their parents to the play. And they did. But what they didn’t know, what was to come. The play went well, untill the conclusion. Facade and Masquerade had knailed all exits, so no one could escape. They both went on a killing spree. They both killed their family, friends and strangers. Masquerade enjoyed it all, it was the perfect conclusion to his perfect story! HE could pursue his dream. His brother and himself got their cutiemark that day, and continued to do it all over again in another city.
Ponies began to question why no one ever mentioned those ponies again. Masquerade was devastated, and begged his brother to find a spell to fix the problem, so he could continue his fun. Facade agreed. Despise his frown, he quite enjoyed what the two brothers did.
After a while doing what they loved, Facade had seemed a bit off. He didn’t seem like himself. One day he followed his brother, and found out he had a special somepony. He had to stop it. He had to get his brother back. All by himself. There was nothing else he could do.
Masquerade began talking to his brother’s “lover”, and got her to meet someone else. She quickly fell in love with the other, and left Facade. Masquerade was there for his brother, and convinced him to leave the area for a couple of years to get himself together.
