…Uh, except for Maud, Lily, and Mac.
Who says we can’t have both? AJ’s not going to lose her other talents.
But she explicitly has magically powered EOH super strength, while aj has no supplimentary power sources.
She is technically braced against the ground with the way she is positioned here. Notice how her body is vertical enough that she almost appears to be doing a hoofstand.
@Lucky Shot
The reason the boulder doesn’t just roll right over her is the same reason why she is able to essentially buck it away moments later; her legs are strong enough to resist the force of the boulder.
Edited
She’s also not applying any force to the boulder that would stop it from rolling right over her, since she is holding it at the bottom
Not sure how many times I have to say this but she IS NOT braced against the ground, any force between her and boulder is NOT pushing her towards the ground so any force she is applying against said ground is irrelevant, she will fall on her face
The ground.
The purple arrow points to the muscle being used, and the red arrow indicates the direction the muscle is trying to move Applejack’s forelegs. But they can’t, because they’re on the ground – the net result is that this muscle is pushing Applejack’s body backwards against the boulder.
“Anterior deltoid” may not be the correct name for the horse version of that muscle, but it’s the muscle in your shoulder that moves your arm up on the “pitch” axis.
Applejack is not just applying force down to the ground, she’s also applying it forward via the anterior deltoid to resist the boulder trying to push her forward and make her fall on her face. Like I said, if the muscle in question is (magically) strong enough, there would be no issue here.
Edited
It makes no difference how strong she is - she has nothing to brace that strength against. Any force exerted between her and the boulder will push her forward (and she will fall on her face). Being stronger will only knock her down faster.
Maybe her anterior deltoids are extremely strong, too.
She is an earth pony. :) All of her muscles are powered up…

and AJ just denied a Rick to Roll wich is a shame since i enjoy being RickRolled :V
this way it doesn’t matter how strong she is, she will just topple over forwards and the boulder will roll right over her and then everybody after her

who know? we might see some more pony strength in time. its just that ponies do not seem to get much of a chance ot show off their pony powers as the show prefers slice of life.
